I am an experienced, chartered physiotherapist working within the speciality of oncology and palliative care.
I have always had a passion for sport and exercise, which stemmed from being a competitive rower at a national level for many years. I pursued this passion further by completing an undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science and achieved a first class honours from the University of Birmingham. It was during this time that I had physiotherapy treatment for various sports injuries, most notably an ACL tear.
Thanks to the rehab programme I received from my physio, I was able to achieve my goals and return to full strength and movement. This inspired me to pursue a career in physiotherapy, so I completed a Masters Degree.
After qualifying as a physiotherapist I worked in the NHS rotating through a range of specialties including pelvic health, respiratory, neurology, surgery, frailty, and complex medicine.
One condition that I was exposed to throughout all of these specialties was Cancer, and this was the drive behind developing my skills and knowledge within this specialty.
I now work full time within the speciality of cancer physiotherapy; at a private cancer centre leading the exercise medicine service as well as through my company Zest.
